Olaia Andaluz Pinedo
Junior Lecturer
Olaia Andaluz Pinedo is a lecturer at the University of Cantabria, where she teaches courses on English language learning, such as Foreign Language Acquisition and English Phonetics. She holds a PhD in Translation Studies from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), and her dissertation was awarded Cum Laude, with International Doctorate Mention. She received the UPV/EHU research staff training grant and the Margarita Salas postdoctoral grant for the training of young doctors. In addition, she holds an MA in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language, as well as an MA in Teacher Training for Secondary Education in the speciality of foreign languages, both from the University of Cantabria.
Her main research interests include English learning, the censorship of theatre translations, and the translation of prefabricated orality. She is a member of the research groups LEAL (Learning English as an Additional Language), TRACE (Translation and Censorship) and TRALIMA (Translation Literature and Audiovisual Media). She has carried out research visits at University College London and the University of León.
