We are pleased to announce the opening of registration for the 10th edition of the official Master’s Degree in Second Language Learning and Teaching.
This comprehensive program aims to equip graduates with the necessary skills to excel in the field of second language education and offers access to a Doctorate program.
Important dates for pre-registration:
- Phase I: June 19 to July 7, 2023.
- Phase II: September 1 to 14, 2023.
Who should apply?
The program is designed for graduates or degree holders in linguistic studies such as English Studies, Modern Languages, Philology, and Translation. It is also open to individuals with backgrounds in Early Childhood or Primary Education, particularly those with a specialisation in Foreign Languages. Teaching professionals from any discipline involved in bilingual/multilingual programs of Content Integrated Learning and Foreign Languages (CLIL) are encouraged to apply as well.
Program objectives:
The primary aim of this Master’s is to train individuals to become proficient professionals in the learning and teaching of second languages, considering the current European and global multilingual context. Additionally, the program seeks to foster research initiatives in this field, encouraging students to embark on scholarly investigations.
Program structure and credits:
This Master’s is offered in a face-to-face format and comprises a total of 60 credits. Full-time enrolment can be completed within one year, while part-time enrolment extends over a period of two years.
Language(s) of instruction:
90% in English, 10% in Spanish.
Optional paths:
- Professional orientation: Students have the opportunity to engage in practical experiences at educational centers with bilingual programs and
Official Language Schools in Cantabria. Furthermore, international internships in European centers are also available. - Research orientation:A specialized course on the design of research projects in second languages.
